My second YA novel, WHY NO BHINE, focuses on human rights in Myanmar. Months after completing the book, nothing has changed. Fortify Rights is still asking for the immediate release of Khaing Myo Htun, an ethnic-Rakhine human rights defender. Arrested on July 25th, 2012, Khaing Myo Htun "was exercising his right to freedom of expression by speaking on behalf of the ALP about alleged abuses committed by the Myanmar Army against civilians in Rakhine State."
