Shalom & Salam

Just last week I had a furniture delivery. When the worker came into my house, he took note of my pillow, which says, "Shalom." I told him it means "peace" which he said he knew. He identified himself as a Muslim from the Middle East, and I said I was an American born Jew, and then said, "Salam," peace in Arabic. This wonderful gentleman said God willing for the world, and we shook hands.

THIS PLACE

Just saw the exhibit, THIS PLACE at the Brooklyn Museum, and it speaks the implicit message of my book. This art installation explores the complexity of Israel and The West Bank as place and metaphor, through the eyes of twelve different photographers. A must see!
